DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:

As a graphic designer and photographer, I believe that it is necessary for my work to reflect the meaning of my subject. By carefully choosing and arranging elements such as type and graphics, I aim to effectively capture the essence of what a client stands for. My style is straightforward, following classic design techniques.

I feel that I must gather all information possible about my subject, because in order to design it, I must know its true meaning. Simplifying my design allows me to start with the basics, stripping the subject down to its most easily understood meaning. By gradually adding an appropriate amount of graphics and type, I ensure that the design is not overdone in a manner that would distract viewers from the subject.

Careful choice of color ensures that the subject is portrayed effectively, whether it is intended to make a bold statement or a more relaxed message. Careful choice of type is just as important in order to truly relate the design to the message it must communicate. This fundamental manner of design is also created with a clean layout of these graphics and type, which are aligned in a manner that shows their relation. I believe that starting to create a design with only the basic elements and gradually adding what is necessary can place the focus on the true meaning of a subject, and through this, a cohesive layout can result in a wonderful design.

ABOUT TIM FISHER

I grew up in various towns across Arkansas.  Always a family-oriented person, I am passionate about building relationships and fulfilling my purpose in life.  Inspired by the stories I see in the world around me, I design with the intent to express the truth about my subjects.  Gaining valuable knowledge of combining typography with the principles of art, I have excelled in graphic design classes.

Working in an internship in marketing and design has allowed me to gain experience in a real work environment.  By creating designs for business cards, letterheads, and marketing materials, I have demonstrated the ability to learn about my client in order to design properly for them.  I studied studio art, with an emphasis in graphic design, at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and graduated May 2013 with my Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude. I now work full-time as a marketing coordinator in addition to doing freelance design work.
